I is for I Would Be

I Would Be

If the world was different
I would be
A June bride at twenty three
A child would come by twenty five
A burned out love would be alive
If the world was different
And all was changed
One of the five would buy a ring
Someone would dare to say hello
On the hopes happiness would follow
A hallowed heart might be the fate
Of a girl who was not strong that lonely night
If the world was different
I would be
Someone else entirely.

For the month of April I’ve committed to writing 26 poems, falling into the Alphabet.  To learn more about my project, check out my introduction.  To learn more about the A-to-Z Challenge visit www.a-to-zchallenge.com.
